NU Support Execution Dead Convicted Drug
Chairman of the Board of Nahdlatul Ulama ( NU ) Said Aqil Siradj said , NU also see pros and cons of it in public . However , NU has taken a firm stance . "With regard to the refusal of pardon ( convicted drug ) and execution , we support , " he said after meeting with Vice President Jusuf Kalla at the Vice President 's Office , Friday ( 30/1 ) .
As we know , January 18 , the government has executed six death row drug cases . The plan , in the near future , the execution will be carried out on two Australian citizens who are involved in drug smuggling heroin into Bali or commonly known as the Bali Nine network .
According to Said , the attitude of the government firmly in the execution of convicted drug is a form of partiality on the people . Therefore , because of drugs , millions of Indonesian people lose future . In fact , too, hovering lives . " Due to the pro-people policies , so we support, " he said .
In addition to drugs , continued Said , NU also pay great attention to the threat of the development of radicalism in Indonesia . Including , the potential emergence of extreme groups supporting ISIS in Indonesia . " We hope , Indonesia became a leader who fought ISIS , " he said .
